Post-Holiday Skin: How to Brighten Sun Spots

Now that summer is coming to a close, you’ve probably noticed your skin has become tired and dull. Plus, some of you may have developed sun spots and an uneven skin tone from your summer away. The primary cause for sun spots is excessive sun exposure, although dark splotches can also be caused by acne scarring, diet, hormones or the medication you’re taking.Regardless, you need products that inhibit melanin formation and exfoliate the skin to brighten and target existing pigmented areas. Below, we have a Brightening Facial routine, with a powerful blend of antioxidants, brighteners, and moisturising agents to help you achieve a more luminous, even complexion.

Brightening Facial to Brighten Sun Spots

This 10-step treatment includes gentle exfoliation, relaxing massage and a nourishing mask. Your day looks brighter already.

1. Pre-Cleanse/Makeup Removal

Eyes: Apply several drops of Gentle Eye Makeup Remover to two damp cotton pads. Place one over each closed eye for a few moments, then softly wipe away eye makeup.

Face: Add a small amount of Essential Cleansing Oil to dry hands and apply to dry skin with light, circular movements for 60 seconds. Then, add water to your hands and introduce to the face (this emulsifies the oils and will change the colour from clear to milky white). Rinse well.

2. Cleanse & Tone

Cleanse the face with Conditioning Milk Cleanser and rinse well. Then swipe Conditioning Tonic using a cotton pad all over the face to soothe and nourish the skin.

3. Exfoliate

Steam your face to open up pores, before applying Pumpkin Enzyme Scrub. This will allow the product to really get into your skin and remove anything clogging up your pores.

4. Mask

Apply an even layer of Restorative Mask or Cucumber Recovery Mask. Leave on for 5 -10 minutes and remove with a warm towel.

5. Vitamin C Treatment

Apply 7.5% Vitamin C Eye Gel around the eye area and 15% Vitamin C to the face, to optimize the skin’s regenerative process.

6. Hydrate

Apply a small amount of the B5 Hydration to boost water content in the skin.

10. Don’t Forget Your Lips
